Intro and Prayer: Have you ever looked back over your life? What did you see? Was there evidence of God’s grace, mercy, forgiveness and love? Are you wondering about how your life would be if things were different? Where you could be if fear had not stopped you from making another decision or just saying no? Life is lived daily and God’s grace is evident in places and spaces long before we become fully aware. I believe that God is working things out and we need to ask that our needs not be forgotten. Think about life where you are today as we prepare to hear God’s word and go to God in prayer. Give yourself a moment to hear words of encouragement and guidance through scripture as I read Colossians 1: 11-20; take a listen about the life of Jesus on Christ the King Sunday in the Lectionary Year C from Luke 23 through the Bible Experience. This is the word of God for the people of God…Let us pray:
Prayer: Gracious Father we come to you this day saying thank you for your mercy, love and grace. Help me to call upon our Lord for guidance; call upon Jesus Christ for his undying love and call upon the Holy Spirit for wisdom. Move me behind the cross and allow only your words for your people to come forth. Cover us with your Spirit and open our ears so that we might receive your Holy Word. Gracious Lord, |

When Jesus rose to heaven on Ascension Day, he became the living Christ, the first person to rise from the dead to be with God the Father in heaven.
On the last Sunday of the Church Year, we celebrate the completion of Jesus' birth, life, death, resurrection, and ascension, by acknowledging him as Lord or King of heaven and earth.
The symbols of this day of completion are the cross of crucifixion and the crown of triumph. |
