Today’s Message: Faith: Standing on God’s Word
Subtitle: Hold onto the right thing!
Luke 20: 27-38 and 2 Thes. 2: 1-5, 13-17
Intro and Prayer: What a week? Test, traffic, long lists with lots of things left undone and more month than money monopolize the conversations of many. Where the dialogue occurred is not the focus because at some point we must become willing to stand on the word of God. What does taking a stand really mean? How do we really hold onto the right things in our life? These questions will shape today’s reflection, which is titled “Standing on God’s Word.” Let us focus on meditating on taking action as we hear God’s Word for us today through 2 Thessalonians 2: 1-5, 13-17 and Luke 20 from the Bible Experience. This is the Word of God…let us pray.
Gracious Lord, thank you for being our Lord and Waymaker. Thank you for sustaining us through faith and grace. Search our hearts, minds, souls and bodies to restore our lives. When you find sin in our lives, remove it by causing us to confess and replace our sins with peaceful humility that is grounded by your love, grace and mercy. Since we know that only your loving healing power will restore our lives, help us to bow down to humbly serve all you have called us to serve throughout our communities. As you grant us newness, thank you for breathing love into our hearts, granting us peace of mind, clarity of thought, and a spirit of joyful obedience as we become doers of your word. Grant us great faith and deliverance as we rise from our knees to offer you praise for everlasting hope. May we be filled with the Holy Spirit as we walk in deliverance daily from this moment; in the name of Jesus we pray…Amen.
