Prayer: O’Lord we thank you for a brand new day in a brand new year. Humbly we come before you confessing that our sins separate us from your love. For this day, we submit our hearts to you asking boldly for cleansing. Because you are God, Gracious Father we come to you today saying thank you for your mercy, love and grace. On this day we ask for a special blessing for this a new year and for families who are grieving from loss and sadness due to death. Help all to call upon our Lord for guidance; call upon Jesus Christ for his undying love and call upon the Holy Spirit for wisdom. Cover this Word with your Spirit; Gracious Lord, nurture us through your Word, teach us to accept the freedom, release us from fear and unforgiveness so that we may receive your Power. O’ Lord, let us know that your love is enough. May this reflection give us hope for transformation and peace, In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
Introduction: Before I set the tone for this reflection, I want to invite the Holy Spirit to reveal all persons that need to forgive someone, those who need to be forgiven and all who want to accept Jesus’ love but just don’t

WHAT IS THE EPIPHANY OF OUR LORD?
The Epiphany of our Lord is the wonderful liturgical festival observed on January 6. It is the oldest of the Christmas festivals and originally the most important. It is still the climax of the Christmas season in churches of the Eastern Orthodox tradition. Since January 6 is most often a weekday, Lutherans and liturgical Protestants sometimes shift the celebration of Epiphany to the Sunday immediately following the 6th. Epiphany is also a season that lasts until the beginning of Lent and encompasses four to nine Sundays, depending on the date of Easter. |
