Rev. Jacqueline T. King

In May 2008, Pastor Jacqui King was ordained a Full Elder in the United Methodist Church by Bishop Janice Riggle Huie during an exciting Annual Conference.  She served on the Worship Committee, served as a communion assistant and liturgist during opening worship celebration.  She returns to Nu Faith Community to continue building and growing this new faith community, which began worshipping in April 2008.  Seven persons were baptized and three professions of faith were experienced by the grace of God during the first six weeks.  God is doing a new thing!

In June 2007, Pastor Jacqui King was appointed as a New Church Planter serving Nu Faith Community UMC in the Greenspoint Area of Houston.  In June 2005, she was commissioned as a Probationary Elder in the Texas Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church by Bishop Janice Riggle Huie and received the Small Church Pastor of the Year Award.  Pastor King served as Senior Pastor to St. Paul United Methodist Church from June 2004 through 2007, where her creative community focus was implemented to minister to the needs of a multi-generational congregation.

Prior to her appointment in Port Arthur, Texas, she graduated from Southern Methodist University in May 2004 with her Master in Divinity degree. Previous educational accomplishments include a Master in Business Administration from Pennsylvania State University, Bachelor of Science in Retail Merchandising Management from Philadelphia University and a multitude of specialized certifications.

Pastor King is married to Donel King and they have two young adult sons.  This committed woman of God loves the Lord and doesn’t have a problem sharing a message of hope with anyone along the way.  Feel free to experience a great virtual faith church at www.NuFaith.org as Nu Faith Community continues growing this new faith community launched in April 2008.

Many thanks and praises to God, friends, and family on my Journey of Ordination

In the Circuit Rider - May / June 2006 there is an article written by Dr. Carol Noren regarding Women in the Puplit.  She indicated use of humor as one of the major changes in gender-relates areas of preaching.  Pastor King is quoted as her example for the use of humor and lectionary. [ View Article ]
